What You Eat Matters

22-02-2025

Food doesn't 'just nourish' food determines SO many other things that you can not see, but you can feel. And the more sensitive you become to this, because you get more in touch with who you truly are the more you will know how to choose what serves you. Not from a place of restriction, but from a place of choice. Let's explore this together.

Every Choice Shapes the Life You Want

One of the most powerful things to realizate is this: Every choice you make builds the life and body you want.

It's not about perfection, it is about alignment. Every day, you're presented with many opportunities to vote for the version of yourself you'd like to be. Either you are choosing one you admire and aspire to embody or you are choosing the one that you're actually looking to stop being.

It's easy to see food choices as small and inconsequential, think again.

Food, just like anything else, is energy and it holds a frequency. You become what you eat quite literally. And this goes beyond vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian or meat. You know what feels good to you, even if you think that you don't know. And it has nothing to do with the head tells you, it has everything to do with that graceful subtle feeling that your body sends you.

It's Not About Deprivation—It's About Freedom

Often, we think of healthy choices as a form of sacrifice. But what if you decide to question this and shift the perspective? What if they are the ultimate freedom?

By choosing foods that support your well-being, you're not giving anything up—you're actually gaining so much! Like clarity of mind, lightness of body, freedom of choice.

Consider this: highly processed foods loaded with sugar or fried ingredients often trap you in cycles of cravings. They hijack your gut microbiome and brain chemistry, leaving you with fewer real choices. True freedom lies in reclaiming your ability to choose based on alignment, not addiction.

"Nothing Tastes as Good as Lightness Feels"

I came up with this mantra, inspired by Kate Moss, and she captures the essence of this perspective shift. "Nothing tastes as good as lightness feels."

And I'm not talking literal lightness, like weight, even though that is probably a consequence of  aligned food choices. It's a reminder that the momentary allure of a craving for "shitty" foofds is no match for the lasting joy of feeling light, strong, and free in your body.

Shifting from Restriction to Abundance

A pivotal part of this shift is realizing that healthy choices aren't about restriction—they're about abundance.

You can still indulge, like I do, in options that are delicious AND nourishing. Like banana pancakes with baking soda so they become extra fluffy, blended warm morning drinks with ceremonial cacao sweetened with date sirup and a spoon of almond butter. These things are delicious and they don't break your energy, clarity and lightness bank.

Focus on what adds to your life, not what takes away from it. Healthy choices become a form of self-care and celebration, not punishment. And while we're at it, let's give the word Health some more love shall we? It has become a dirty word that points to boring and holier than thou. And we all know why this is. But now that you know better, you can choose better.

Anchoring A New Perspective

To truly embody a shift, it helps to anchor it with intentional questions and practices. Here are some prompts to guide you when you are about to eat something

  1. Does this choice reflect who I want to be and how I want to feel?

  2. Can I choose not to eat it, or is the craving too strong?

  3. Will this choice feel as good moments form now as it does now?

These questions aren't about judgment; they're about awareness. They help you reconnect with your deeper desires and act from a place of self-love.

In Closing

All of this is easy, but not so simple. If it were everyone would walk around glowing like a light bulb living their best lives. And it is doable, of course. The choice is and always has been; How bad do you want it? Then how do you change? The same way you change anything; know who you want to be, and then go exercise that new self, one repetition at a time.
