Who's Asking That? The Magic of Self Inquiry
Do you ever feel like life throws thoughts at you that aren't quite you? Thoughts that make you question things, wonder about your direction, or doubt your ability to create the life you truly desire? I've been there, too.
Let me share something that's completely transformed my life: the power of self-inquiry. It's simple, but oh-so-profound, and it all starts with one question: Who's asking that?

Why This Question Matters
Everything begins with the relationship you have with yourself. Dr. Joe Dispenza says it best: "Your personality creates your personal reality." What you think and feel shapes the way your life unfolds.
And here's something amazing—every possibility for who you could be already exists. Right now, there's a version of you who's already confident, radiant, and fulfilled. Self-inquiry helps you connect to her by questioning the thoughts and beliefs that might be keeping you stuck.
How Does It Work?
It all starts with awareness. Picture this:
There's a "you" who has thoughts, and then there's the deeper "You" who's aware of those thoughts. When a thought arises—whether it's self-doubt, insecurity, or fear—ask yourself: "Who is thinking this?"
This gentle question does something magical. It helps you step back and see if the thought aligns with the version of yourself you want to be—or if it's coming from an old, outdated version of you.
Bashar, one of my favorite teachers, explains this beautifully:
"Each moment, you're shifting from parallel reality to parallel reality. Redefine yourself completely, and you'll experience a new version of yourself with a new history and even a new DNA."
A Personal Example
Let me be real with you. I used to operate from a mindset of scarcity—always feeling like I needed more. More opportunities, more approval, more of… everything.
When I started practicing self-inquiry, I realized those thoughts weren't coming from the me who's living her best life. They were coming from a younger version of me who experienced financial struggles growing up.
By asking, "Who's thinking this?" I could see the thought for what it was and gently choose a different perspective—one rooted in abundance and trust.
Awareness, Awareness, Awareness
Peter Crone once said, "If it was easy to have an extraordinary life, everyone would have one." And isn't that the truth?
It's not always easy, but it is possible. With each question you ask, you're building a bridge to the version of you who's already living that extraordinary life.
So the next time you feel stuck or uncertain, pause a moment and ask yourself:
"Who's asking that?"
How Is This For Me Right Now?
I too work on everything I share about. And I have graduated myself to a version that is not focused on quantity but on quality.
The "Who is thinking this thought?" helps me to determine if my spending comes from my previous limited, scared of running out of money version or another version.
And when I know it comes from the victim version, I have the time and space to course correct to "Money is always there when I need it and it's showing up in increasing larger amounts."
Obviously it takes some practice. And that is the beauty of it.
"If it was easy to have an extra-ordinary life, everyone would life one."
So it is up to you, it is up to me, what are we choosing? But more importantly; "Who is thinking that?"
